Hellooooo legends!

In case we don’t know each other, my name is Rudi.

This is the “pilot” of my newsletter.

(Slightly different edition, more of a manifesto)

Here’s what you will find today:

This is how I look now

📕 How this newsletter was born

Where I grew up, money was a bit of a taboo.

People didn't talk much about it.

It was just something you use to pay for stuff.

I wasn’t taught much about it.

The ones that tried gave me their view of it.

Which was not the “right” for me most of the time.

So I learned the expensive way.

Got scammed.
Bought the top on FOMO.
Kept things I should have sold.

Basically, did every rookie mistake.

Then, a few years later, a childhood friend (s/o to Ivana) gifted me a book about blockchain.

The actual book that kicked off my career

Took me 3 attempts to finish it.

But that book ended up shaping my following 6 years.

I ended up in crypto.

Bitstamp. Bitvavo. OKX. Bitpanda.

Marketing roles, inside the money machine.

I learned a lot from 6 years inside it:

  • A lot of people with real money were miserable. Watched people 10x their net worth and get worse to be around. Ended up seeking just more and more money.

  • People giving the most confident advice usually knew the least. The only thing that’s guaranteed 100% is that nobody knows what is going to happen.

  • Everyone makes the same money mistakes. Not different ones. The same ones. From the entry-level person to the skilled professional.

  • And much, much more.

I wish I had somebody telling me all those lessons when I was young.

Giving me guidance like a mentor.

I didn’t have it, but maybe I can be that person for someone.

This is exactly why “The Money Leverage” was born.

To share the learnings, lessons, mistakes and tools.

What I tried myself.
What I saw from the inside.
What I learned.

No jargon.

No guru vibes.

Keeping it as simple as possible.

I'm not a financial advisor.

And I don’t have a crystal ball to predict the future.

But I’ve made all the mistakes myself, and experienced many things from the inside by working inside the money machine.

This pretty much sums it up:

Yeah, this is my current LinkedIn cover

🫂 Who is this newsletter for?

This is for you if money makes you feel a bit confused, a bit out of control, or a bit behind for not knowing things you feel you should.

I was like that in the past.

And I still feel like that sometimes.

That’s exactly why I want to keep everything as simple as possible.

Not just for you, but for me as well.

Simplifying things helps me solidify my learnings.

Tools, resources, checklists, and all the stuff I wish someone had handed me back when I was young.

What is the common belief vs. what I found out later on.

And answer the questions I had when I was young:

  • “How do I start investing?”

  • “Is trading easy? Is it profitable?”

  • “What do I do about taxes?”

  • “What's the best strategy?”

  • “How do I track my money?”

Who I’m making this for

Ideally, I then want to expand to other aspects of money.

In the end, money shapes (like it or not) everything that we do.

Dating, work, relationships, free time, health…

All of them, one way or another, touch upon it.

I feel that having more discussions about it will benefit everyone.

🆕 What can you expect next?

I already mentioned some of the topics and questions.

The idea is to send each edition on Sunday evenings (CET time).

I will try to follow a similar structure for each edition.

But it will be a “work in progress” project, at least initially.

Meaning that I will try to improve it each time and listen to the feedback from the subscribers (we are already 40+ and counting).

I’m humble enough to know there will be flaws at first.

But here’s the initial plan for the next editions, so you know what to expect:

What I’m planning for the next newsletter editions

The main goal is to make each edition as valuable as possible.

Do you have any other suggestions? 🤔

Leave them here.

🔥 BONUS: A little bit about myself

Some facts about me, so you can get to know who I am and what I do in my life (if you don’t already):

  • I was born and raised in Trieste (Italy)

  • I consider myself 50% Italian and 50% Slovenian

  • I studied economics and marketing (+ 2 Erasmuses)

  • I’m native in Italian and Slovenian (+ English good enough to write a newsletter in it and Spanish in the making).

  • Lived in 6 countries (Italy, Slovenia, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, The Netherlands)

  • I’m into marketing, finance, business, psychology and personal development of any kind.

  • In my free time, I train BJJ and play the guitar.

  • I love memes

I hope now you have a better idea of why this is happening, what this is, and what to expect in the future.

I will do my best to make this newsletter worth your time.

And again, thanks for subscribing! ❤️
